Last July recorded a segment on WeARERotary.TV thanks to PDG and good friend Wade Nomura in Santa Barbara.  Well it took us quite a few months to get the link an we will be uploading it to our YouTube Channel soon but in the meantime we put up a link on the Surfers Unite Facebook page to video on this site.  Please share, like and enjoy!

Developed a number of presentations over the past 18 months about Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship with the Rotary eClub of Silicon Valley as well as presentations to the Rotary Club of Encinitas Coastal, Rotary Club of Carlsbad Hi-Noon and even at District events about the Rotary Fellowships Driving Youth into the Family of Rotary.  Excited to announce that on April 4th I will be speaking at the Rotary Club of Santee.  If you are interested in seeing what one of our online presentations looks like be sure to watch this courtesy of Surfers Unite Lifetime Member Rushton Hurley, Rotary eClub of Silicon Valley:

Thanks Rushton for your leadership and support!

Don't miss any of the action, download and share the February 2019 newsletter today!  This is how we grow our Rotary Fellowship:

Earlier today Jim "Jimbo" Skiles of the Rotary Club of Gainesville in Florida joined Surfers Unite as a Lifetime Member.  Turns our Jimbo is a retired insurance agent and long time surfer who had a couple of Rotarians meet us at RICON17 in Toronto. We handed them a few stickers and Jim was elated to see what we are doing as a fellowship and excited to get more things started in the St. Augustine area.  Let's make it happen Jimbo as it's great to have you "on board."

We will be featuring this recent event in our February 2019 Newsletter but it was completely off the hook.  The good and the bad...we were capping the event to 25 participants and had almost twice the number show up which got us in a little hot water with the City of Del Mar and Del Mar Lifeguards but to have 35 Rotaractors and Rotarians from Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, the United States (SDSU Rotaract & UCSD Rotaract) and friends throughout the surf community from San Diego to Italy...well it just shows you what Surfers Unite is really all about.  Here are a couple photo links to download pics and enjoy:

Really great times last night in Irwindale.  Be sure to tune in New Year's Day to watch the 130th Tournament of Roses as our "Service Rocks" float plays Elton John's Crocodile Rocking down Colorado Blvd in Pasadena.  Look for Surfers Unite member Bélgica Crespo as she represents Rotary District 5340 and City Heights Rotaract as a Rotary Float Outwalker.  Special thanks to all the volunteers and supporters.

On Friday December 28, 2018 members of Surfers Unite including Rotarians, Rotaractors & Interactors will be decorating the Rotary Rose Parade Float in Irwindale.  Check social media for photos and be sure to join over 74M viewers on New Year's Day by watching the 130th Tournament of Roses.

2019 is going to be a banner year for our Rotary Fellowship and the fun gets started with the International Assembly in San Diego (Jan. 13-19) and a Rotaract Learn to Surf Event and Demo Event with Degree 33 Surfboards on the 19th.

Still adding hundreds of photos into the Album below but wanted to share the following Google Photos link with all the volunteers, amazing athletes and friends in the surfing community who have made the event a success.  Special thanks the ISA Staff, the sponsors and City of San Diego.

Don't miss an opportunity to serve as a volunteer and cheer on over 200 incredible para, disabled and visually impaired athletes at the 2018 Stance ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship which will take place Dec. 12-16 at La Jolla Shores.  If you live in Southern California you should bring the whole family to this event and bring a country flag to wave as well.  More than 25 countries are represented at this event and is very inspiring to watch talented surfers dropping into barrel rides on the shore with a prosthetic limb.
